Most of the university students who come from outside the city live in Trieste in apartments. Some of them stay in boarding schools and hostels. Both solutions have their pros and cons.
Rivalto’s offer combines the advantages of apartments and halls of residence. Though it provides a high level of autonomy typical of an apartment, Rivalto’s solution also puts an emphasis on creating groups of friends living in a convivial atmosphere. Such a solution distinguishes halls of residence and, as far as Rivalto is concerned, it is guaranteed by the reliability and the experience of the staff .
Rivalto’s residents are lodged in apartments located in close proximity to Rivalto’s Headquarters in Piazza Dalmazia. The allocation of the apartments to each resident is carried out by the staff, which verifies the needs of each resident and his particular necessities (smoking, schedules etc.) in order to assure the highest comfort possible.
There are no written rules as far as living in the apartments is concerned. However, some verbal rules have been established in order to make the life in the hall of residence easier and favor a better use of time, i.e. by avoiding useless distractions. Such a solution strengthens the atmosphere of mutual confidence. Further details are given to would-be residents during their admission interviews.
The apartments are furnished, well-kept and comfortable. The residents are responsible for keeping the apartments in order, especially as far as cleaning and level of efficiency are concerned, as a sign of their respect for other residents.
Each apartment has a senior resident, i.e. a university student that has been coming to Rivalto for two or three years and whose specific duty is to help other residents during their first years at the university, see to their needs, and organize the life of the hall of residence.
