Hall of Residence
Rivalto offers to male students from outside Trieste a possibility of passing their university years in a cheerful, family atmosphere, encouraging both from the intellectual and cultural points of view.
Rivalto doesn’t simply provide a housing option in Trieste. Its offer includes various activities which aim to help students develop their talents during their stay in the city.
The first thing that a new student arriving at Rivalto will certainly notice is a family atmosphere of the center, based on friendship, respect and liberty. A particular care and attention is given to the single person’s needs and to creating and maintaining positive interpersonal relations. From the first days of their stay, the residents become active protagonists of the residence’s life, helping the staff in organizing the activities and assuming small responsibilities related with the upkeep and daily operation of the hall of residence.
As far as facilities are concerned, Rivalto not only offers housing in comfortable and well maintained apartments, but it also provides access to library, study rooms, and computer room with Internet connection that are located in the Headquarters.
An integral part of Rivalto’s offer is represented by Complementary Activities, i.e. internal courses, meetings with professionals and coaching services. Moreover, the students living in the hall of residence may participate in all the activities of the Cultural Center.
Admission
The admission to the hall of residence is based on a personal interview and filling in of an information questionnaire. The appointment for the interview can be made by telephone or online starting from May of the previous academic year. The results of the interview will be given to the applicants after a few weeks.
The admission criteria are the applicant’s scholastic/university performance and the ability to adapt to the life of the hall of residence.
Residents are usually taken on a year basis. The lease can be renewed after that period. In exceptional cases, it can be also cancelled during the academic year.
The assignment deadline for available places next year at the hall of residence is 30 September.
Fees
The current rate for an academic year at Rivalto is €2.820 (€235 per month). It includes:
- Housing in the hall of residence in a single room (the fee for a place in a double room is subject to reduction);
- Complementary Activities offered by Rivalto (internal courses, meetings with professionals, tutoring and coaching services);
- Access to the Main Building facilities (computer room, library, study room etc.).
Students with a high university performance may apply for a scholarship and receive a reduction of the fees.
The average price of a single room in Trieste is €200 per month. The additional €35 requested by Rivalto covers all the costs related with the services offered (Internet access, Complementary Activities etc.). The price is certainly not very high considering the quality of services provided and the cheerful, family atmosphere of Rivalto.
